John 10:
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
In John’s gospel Jesus called the devil the thief and said, the thief only comes around to steal, kill, and destroy whatever he can.
The devil hates affordable housing, health care and education. Affordable housing gives shelter; it gives physical security and contributes to emotional security.
Affordable healthcare saves lives. The devil hates that.
Affordable education changes lives for the better and enables social mobility. It enables people to achieve their potential. The devil wants to steal dreams so he tries to make education more expensive to exclude people.
Any policies or budget decisions that affect these areas are moral decisions. They affect people lives for better or worse for a long-time even generations.
God loves people but the devil steals from them. We ought to love one another through the people we vote for.
Pray about who you’re going to vote for and let them know the sort of values you are looking for in their policies. The love of God should compel us to love our neighbour even when we vote.
In John’s gospel 10;10 Jesus called the devil the thief and said,
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
