Acts 27:25
…Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.
The time when the apostle Paul was about to be shipwrecked, he told everyone to “take heart” or keep up your courage.
If we are going to weather the storms of life, we are going to have to take heart and encourage ourselves, in the Lord’s willingness and ability to help.
Paul told the Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
To live successfully we need to control our thought life and emotions. We can’t keep a record the number of hurts or disappointments we’ve had. If we dwell on that we’re going to be in trouble.
We’ve got to think about what God has done for us and what He is able to do for us. The devil is pressing in and we’d better push back with God.
Before and after David became king, he faced many problems. One time while he and his troops were away the enemy attacked his camp and took all the families left there. The troops wanted to stone him. He was in a desperate situation.
The book of 1 Samuel 30:6 says “But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.”
David got direction from the Lord and even though they had to fight a battle, they rescued all the people. In the midst of the storm when David was greatly distressed, he strengthened himself in the Lord his God. He took heart. He kept his confidence in God at an extremely low point.
Praise God we know Him and can be strong in the power of His might. Praise God Jesus is the prince of peace. If give our attention to Jesus, His Word and act on it we can have His peace in our hearts as we face the trials of life.
We’ve got a fight on our hands every day. The devil is trying to wear us down. He’s trying to make us think differently to what God says about us and what He’ll do for us. Don’t listen to him, listen to God and act on that.
Acts 27:25
Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me.
Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
I used to wonder why some people had strong faith and I didn’t. The Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
We need to hear the word of God again and again. We need to develop a lifestyle so that we hear God’s word not just in church but in our homes, in our car, in the music we listen to.
If we hear a little bit of the Word, we’ll grow a little bit of faith. If we are hearing and hearing a lot of the Word, we’ll grow a lot of faith.
When we are hearing and hearing the Word our faith is built up and if the devil comes around whispering doubt, we’ll be able to resist him and believe God.
We’re not meant to live this life without faith in God and His promises, that’s too hard.
Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is something of substance to God. It is counted as the substance of what we are believing for. Our faith is creative and powerful. It causes a spiritual event to occur that results in a physical manifestation.
In God’s mind faith is counted as evidence. Evidence matters, that's what determines the outcome.
Without faith there’s no evidence in the spiritual realm and we won’t be able to receive from God.
God is love but it’s faith that moves Him.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
Jesus wants us to believe that we have received whatever we’ve asked for at the time we pray. We are to believe that we have received in the spiritual realm before it manifests physically.
The natural, unspiritual mind says “seeing is believing”. Jesus wants us to believe before we see.
Jesus wants us to pray to the Father in His name. We only have to ask once and then believe we have received at the time we pray. Then Thank God until it manifests.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
